#Ramadan2016 #JesusismyPillar

my candle

So last Monday (6th June) was the first day of Ramadan in Australia (I think) which involves a month of fasting, prayer and devotion for Muslims. So in parallel to this, (as a Christian) I want to be posting one thing on social media every day until the 5th of July. I want to share things inspired by my personal relationship with God about life and faith, as a sort of ‪#‎dailybread‬ in this season. My prayer is that people will be able to seek and find God like never before, encountering Jesus himself as the way, truth and life.

Here’s the thing…

As nice as it is that I want to start this initiative and that lots of people ‘liked’ my post – I believe that the testimony of many believers is much more powerful than one. So I want to invite Y O U to join me. Even if you can’t post something everyday, it’s what we can accomplish together that counts. Share about your faith – our Jesus at any point between now and the 5th of July + using the hashtags: ‪#‎JesusismyPillar‬ and ‪#‎Ramadan2016‬.

Why the hashtag?

The hashtag #JesusismyPillar was created by my friend John Le. Ramadan is 1 of the 5 pillars of Islam. (The Five Pillars are the five obligations that every Muslim must satisfy in order to live a good and responsible life.) But we believe that what Jesus has accomplished on the cross was enough to satisfy God’s standards once and for all.

I’m believing that as we pray and testify as the body of Christ – there will be many who will be saved in the name of Jesus. <3 Let’s not hide under a bowl!

The Call…

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

Feel free to share this post/photo to see the light of Christ spread throughout the online world this Ramadan!
