I’m a sinner.

My whole existence centres around what I want.

Do I even want to follow Jesus?

“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:23

I know the right answer, but my heart, life and actions seem to say something else. I live:

My way > God’s way
My desires > God’s desires

God, have mercy on me, a sinner. 💔😣

#WeLookUp ⬅️ Do I even do this?

I have never met you, maybe not yet or will I ever. I relate completely to everything you have mentioned; I know the right way, I know his voice and spirit. Yet I find my world desires growing ever more strongly. Just something I read that helped changed my attitude along the way.

C.S Lewis wrote in the weight of glory.
“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”

Keep your head up, not just because you should be a proud sinner… but because you are a sinner in need of a savior, and that you have already been saved by grace.. through faith. Lastly, no matter how lonely you feel… you are not alone.

Reagan thank you so much for sharing, that quote by C.S Lewis is so good! It is so true that often we are just settling for worldly pleasures when eternal heavenly delights await us.

Can I ask how you found out about my blog? I feel so happy that what I write can be a blessing to people 🙂
