Be still my soul

Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. –Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭7‬

I am sensing that I am in transition right now. The last season is drawing to a close and I am heading into a new one. I’m thinking of “taking a break” from uni next semester (aka. Potentially dropping out) and working more. I want to gain experience and not just read from a textbook (as much as I also love doing this- only with sociology). This isn’t the only reason though- I feel like other things in my life have found resolve and God has prepared me to take the next step of faith. The journey so far has been exciting and challenging, but a new blank page awaits, brimming with the potential of what’s to come.

And let me tell you, it’s terrifying. It reminds me that every person has their own personal journey of faith to walk, where God will lead them down a unique path that only they will truly know. Maybe he calls you to be a pioneer, a leader, to do something that has never been done before. It reminds me that when Peter stepped out onto the water to follow Jesus, he was alone. All the other disciples were freaking out on the boat. If Peter was worrying about where he stood in comparison with the others, he never would have stepped out. He would have stayed, safe and comfortable with his mates. But instead his priority was a steadfast gaze upon his beloved Lord Jesus.

And he was going to pursue him, whether others were with him or not.

So yes, definitely, we are blessed with brothers and sisters to share this journey alongside us. But God also has a unique relationship with each individual, and no two paths will look exactly the same-just like our fingerprints. I have so many questions about my next season. Who will journey alongside me? Where will I go? How will I get to those places? What will I be doing?

Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. –Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭7‬

p.s this photo was taken on my way to potentially the last uni exam I would ever sit. :O
