This morning I woke up at 4:45am to do a spontaneous work shift by being a mascot on t.v. Yes you heard correctly, no I’m not lying. My destiny of being the first Asian Koala has now been fulfilled: https://instagram.com/p/BWtCgF7Fgr5/ #LifeGoals #CareerPeak #MadeIt
And now finishing work (by choice) at 6pm, has officially destroyed my brain. Im feeling absolutely smashed, but spiritually too. Usually before we go on our RICE Melbourne trips (tomorrow), we all feel different forms of spiritual attack. I suppose satan doesn’t like it when we try and reach new cities for Jesus.
I think I’ve also just been having a full on month, for lots of reasons. (And it’s only going to get more full on 😭).
In this weariness and brokenness, on a train platform at Wynyard, I prayed. And tried with just a tiny mustard seed size of faith and energy, to seek my Lord…
“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind.
Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
1 Peter 5:5-11
This was God’s remedy to my broken soul.
God… I need you. I have nothing left in me… and it feels like the weight of the world is on my shoulders…
Cast ALL your anxieties on him
I got my phone and on an app called Evernote I did a stream of consciousness style list of dot points of any worry that scurried across my mind. I wrote 44 in 7 minutes. Some were random “We’re going to have a late dinner tonight”, some were less random “I think I’m withdrawing from people.”
Resist the devil…
Don’t look to anything or anyone first for your comfort. Don’t tackle your weariness with more work and distractions, don’t seek the love you long for from humans first, don’t give into the superficial comfort of social media. Go to God first, go to Him and close the door behind you in your mind.
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
Please pray for this koala if you will 🐨🙏🏼
